GREAT COLLECTION OF SAUL BASS MOVIE SOUNDTRACK LP COVERS OF OTTO PREMINGER PRODUCED & DIRECTED FILMS (see photos for complete playlists):
Graphic designer Saul Bass is among the pioneers of movie title design. In 1955, his title sequence for Otto Preminger's The Man with The Golden Arm made him famous. He went on to design many more movie titles (& LP Covers) of Preminger's films. He also worked on titles for Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, and Martin Scorsese.
Here are six movie titles that Saul bass collaborated with on Otto Preminger productions:
     1) THE MAN WITH TGHE GOLDEN ARM (1956) (Decca - DL-78257) Music from the original soundtrack of United Artists movie release. Theatrical Poster and Album Cover graphics by Saul Bass. Production and Direction by Otto Preminger. Music by Elmer Bernstein. Screenplay by Walter Newman, Lewis Meltzer, Ben Hecht. Based on book by Nelson Algren by the same name. STARRING: Frank Sinatra, Eleanor Parker, Kim Novak, Arnold Stang, Darren McGavin. Nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Frank Sinatra. CONDITION: Vinyl = Very Good ++. Cover = Very Good (4" Upper Seam split but bright, clean color).
2)  ANATOMY OF A MURDER (1959) (Columbia - CL-1360) Music from the soundtrack of the Columbia motion picture release. Theatrical Poster and album Cover graphics by Saul Bass. Production and Direction by Otto Preminger. Music byDuke Ellington. Screenplay by Wendell Mayes. Based on 1957 Robert Traver novel of the same name. STARRING: James Stewart, Lee remick, Ben Gazzara, Arthur O'Connell, Eve Arden, Kathryn Grant, George C. Scott, Orson Bean. Nominated for six academy awards including, Best Picture (Otto Preminger), Best Actor (James Stewart), Best Supporting Actor (Arthur O'Connell, George C. Scott), Best Adapted Screenplay (Wendell Mayes). CONDITION: Vinyl = Excellent. Cover = Very Good (4" split upper & lower split seams but bright, clean color). 
3) BONJOUR TRISTESSE (1958) (RCA Victor - LOC-1040) Music from the soundtrack of the Columbia motion picture release. Film Poster and album cover graphics by Saul Bass. Production and direction by Otto Preminger. Music by Georges Auric. Screenplay by Arthur Laurents. Based on 1954 novel Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagon. STARRING: Deborah Kerr, David Niven, Jean Segerg, Mylene Demongeot, Geoffrey Horne, Juliette Greco, Walter Chiari. CONDITION: Vinyl = Excellent. Cover = Very Good (upper seam splits but bright, clean color).
4) HURRY SUNDOWN (1967) (RCA Victor - LOC-1133) (Back cover stamped: Not For Sale - Promotional Use Only) Music from the soundtrack of the Paramount motion picture release. Album cover graphics by Saul Bass. Production and direction by Otto Preminger. Music by Hugo Montenegro. Screenplay by Horton Foote, Thomas C. Ryan. Based on the novel by K.B. Gilden. STARRING: Michael Caine, Jane Fonda, John Phillip Law, Diahann Carroll, Robert Hooks, Faye Dunaway, Burgess Meredith, Robert Reed, George Kennedy, Frank Converse, Jim Backus. CONDITION: Vinyl & Cover = Excellent. 
5) THE CARDINAL (1963) (RCA Victor - LSO-1084) Music from the soundtrack of the Columbia motion picture release.  Film Poster and album cover ics by Saul Bass. Production and direction by Otto Preminger. Music by Jerome Moross. Screenplay by Robert Dozier. Based on The Cardinal by Henry Morton Robinson. STARRING: Tom Tryon, Romy Schneider, Carol Linley, John Huston, Dorothy Gish, Maggie McNamara. The Film won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama. Preminger was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director and John Huston was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and won the Golden Globe for that category. CONDITION: Vinyl = Excellent. Cover = Very Good ++. 
6) TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME, JUNIE MOON (1970) (Columbia - OS-3540) (STILL FACTORY SEALED) Music from the soundtrack of the Paramount motion picture release. Film Poster and album cover graphics by Saul Bass. Production and direction by Otto Preminger. Music by Philip Springer. Song Old Devil Time by Pete Seeger. Screenplay by Marjorie Kellogg. Based on the novel of the same name by Marjorie Kellogg. STARRING: Lisa Minnelli, Ken Howard, Robert Moore, James Coco, Kay Thompson, Fred Williamson, Pete Seeger. CONDITION: Vinyl = Near Mint. Cover = Very Good + (Some damage to corners even though still in factory sealing).

LP's come boxed carefully in corrugated boxes made specifically for LP's, with filler pads and bubble wrap on both sides to protect the cover. LP's are housed in clear plastic LP sleeves. The LP is removed from the cover for shipping to prevent seam splitting unless when purchasing a sealed LP or when specified otherwise. Tracking numbers will be provided on all purchases.
