Santana ABRAXAS MFSL One Step 2LP 45 RPM - SEALED AND SUPER LOW #0183. One of the most collectible audiophile reissues in recent memory. I was lucky enough to pre-order two of these when the title was first announced. With some reluctance I'm offering up my sealed backup copy. IF you decide to open and play this record, as soon as you hear side one (Sing Winds, Crying Beasts/Black Magic Woman) you will know why this reissue is SO much in demand...one of the ALL TIME great demo tracks.
Here's your chance to get this out of print rarity at a fair market price!
Condition: The LP is sealed and near mint. There is a small dent in the upper top front (please see Picture 4, approximately 1/2 inch). Unfortunately, this was the condition in which I received it. There are also two spots where the shrink wrap has opened slightly: please see Picture 5, upper right front corner (approximately 3/16th inches) and Picture 6 (approximately 5/8th inches). The cover box is NOT affected by these small openings.
ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGS
While some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors, usually leading to certain compromises, when pressing at 33 1/3. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape.
