I play all “A” and many “B” sides on a 1960’s Monarch deck to make sure they sound OK, so I know before they leave here that there is little, if any, problem with the disc. If an original Company Sleeve is supplied, please note that this too is 50 - 55 years old, and must be expected to have general wear and tear, and some or all of small amounts of writing, paper loss due to removed stickers or other signs of old age such as small tears. If the sleeve is described as a Replica, it will be in as new condition and bought specially for that disc.

Please don’t ask for your sales item in a hurry – it cannot be done. I am disabled, with an inoperable slipped disc trapping a nerve against my spinal column. This prevents me from walking any distance so most of my posting is done by a health visitor, once a week, usually on a Thursday. Between us, we will do our best, without guarantee, to beat the displayed postage times once payment is received – after that it is up to the Post Office. Please do not complain about slow service. Contact me first if there is any problem. I ask you NOT to leave a low Detailed Seller Rating – the stars are not a game, and leaving marks of 1, 2 or 3 will result in Ebay restricting my sales and means that I cannot maintain my cheap prices. In any case a poor mark would NOT help your cause because I simply cannot supply items any faster than I do.

All items, except spare sleeves or parcels are sent FIRST CLASS. Packaging is at the exact cost that I paid for it.

Large letter charges for a 7”, 45rpm record (20 cm x 20 cm x 1 cm) and weight up to half a kilo is £1.68 First Class. Strong mailing envelopes are 22p from Ebay suppliers, making the total postage cost £1.90.   This price is valid for one, two, three, four or five records.

Parcel post charges for a 12”, 33 rpm record (34 cm x 34 cm x 2 cm) and weight up to 2 kilos is £3.30 First Class. A strong mailing envelope, including a 12” stiffener, costs 30p from Ebay suppliers, making the total postage cost £3.60. 

EUROPEAN POSTAGE and PACKAGING:

I will post anywhere, (and up to FIVE records for the same postal charge). Enquire for actual rates before bidding and wait for an invoice at the end.

Please note that because of continued lost mail, buyers in some countries will have to pay more. Normal rates (from around £4.50) will apply for Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. With regret, for Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe, Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal, I will only use the Royal Mail’s International “Tracked and Signed” for service, (rates from £10.05).

I am sorry about this but I have had too many buyers moaning at me when the loss/theft or delay is down to others and though many other sellers feel the same, Ebay refuses to help find an effective solution – it is the carrier who is responsible NOT THE SELLER, and as the Royal Mail does not consider an item lost until at least 15 working days have passed, why does Ebay support buyers in making claims against the seller before this time has elapsed, and when they have no control over the loss?

“Tracked and Signed” rates apply to all countries (rates from £12.80), but you could still get up to five records for that one postal amount.

WHO AM I?

They call me “Honest Dave”, and those who know me personally understand that I will never knowingly sell any record in a condition that I would reject myself. I have been collecting for 45 years and selling for nearly 40 of those, specialising in all types of music, (except Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae, which I like but have no real knowledge of). My era is the 1960’s (actually 1955-1973) and I’ve been on Ebay since 2006.  A business card is sent with all sales.

My vinyl prices range from clearance items at £2.00, through the mid-range £6.00-£8.00 and then many rare items from £15.00 right up to £100.00 - £150.00! Almost all will have the original centre intact and will be in the correct company sleeve (where it is known), though some sleeves will be exact replicas.
