Description
Issued in 1981 reaching number 13 on the Echoes chart on 15/7/81 this is a double A side record with both sides being produced by Linval Thompson and arranged by Mickie Scott. Issued on the Strong Like Sampson label with catalogue number SLSD 018. The A side is Sammy with Rainey Days which is an extended version with the song going into the dub. The B side features a heavier rhythm with Sammy's vocal cut followed by Papa Tullo's DJ cut. Both rhythms feature on The Scientist LP " Scientist Meets The Space Invaders " Rainey days is the track " Beam Down " whilst the track I'm A Dreadlocks is the track " Red Shift ". So these are two vocal cuts to the Scientist dub cuts. The vinyl is visually graded as VG with a surface mark of about one inch at the start of the A side...Does not affect play. Both sides play with no pops or crackles or surface noise. Both labels are clean and mark free. The record comes in a Strong Like Sampson company sleeve.
