Description
Up for auction is a nice copy of the Syd Barrett double compilation album "The Madcap Laughs and Barrett" released in the U.S. on Capitol Records (SABB-11314). Includes gatefold cover and two LPs, record one is "Madcap Laughs" and record two is the self-titled "Barrett". No UPC/bar code on cover.
Cover is in very nice condition, no ring wear or discoloration. Corners generally sharp. Opening edge does have a small closed tear (see photo). Inside gatefold is clean, no wear. Seams generally strong and intact, though there is a small separation of an inch or so at top middle of front gatefold. Otherwise, a very attractive, clean cover. Grade the cover EX (Excellent).
The vinyl records are also in very nice condition, retaining their original high gloss shine. No real significant scratches or scuffs, though there are a couple very faint small hairlines and minor marks that cannot be felt, nor do they affect the quality of the playback. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating very little previous play or handling. I've play tested this album and it sounds nice, just a little surface noise on the lead in grooves, but once the music starts it fades away and sounds clean and clear. Grade the vinyl EX (Excellent).
