Some info on the release:  Very rare original issue, released in Sweden sometime in the late 70's on the Caprice label (Forkladd Gud, Harpans Kraft, Ake Hodell, Bengt Emil Johnson, Ake Parmerud, Don Cherry, Karl-Birger Blomdahl, etc.). Rolf Enstrom's "Directions for tape" composed at Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm - EMS computer - and analogue studio - 1979. Par Lindgren's "Elektrisk Musik for tape", composed at Musikhögskolans Elektronmusikstudio in Stockholm, 1978. Tamas Ungvary's "Akonel II for flute and tape" composed at Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm, 1978. The flute part was recorded at Sveriges Radio. Tommy Zwedberg's "Face The Music for trumpet and tape", composed at Musikhögskolans Elektronmusikstudio in Stockholm, 1977. The trumpet part was recorded at Sveriges Radio.

Rolf Enstrom can look back on a ten year period as a composer. Although his list of works is not qualitatively large, it does include a number of very carefully crafted compositions of high artistic quality. Several of his works have become 'classics'; one thinks especially of Directions (1979) and Final Curses (1981). Rolf Enström is a composer who unceasingly seeks new artistic paths and new means of expression and this is something which has led him to combine music with other art forms, primarily the visual arts and literature. This has resulted in collaborations with the sculpturer Beth Laurin (Skulpturmusik ) and Elsa Grave (Final Curses ). The multi-media works Myr and Fractal should also be mentioned. Rolf Enstrom is a dramatic composer who prefers to work with strong contrasts; violent outbreaks and pauses/silences are important elements in his music. Although the music may often be brutal and violent, charged with dramatic seriousness, one can also catch a glimpse of Enström's characteristic humour hidden somewhere in the textural web in the form of small unexpected sounds, as well as a well developed sense for lyricism.

Par Lindgren is a Swedish composer. He studied composition with Gunnar Bucht and Lars-Gunnar Bodin at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he himself has been a member of the teaching staff since 1980. In 1998 he was appointed professor of composition. Initially his composing was mainly directed towards electronic music. Works such as Electric Music and the triptych The Room, The Second Room and Houdini attracted attention at an early stage. Over the years Lindgren’s interest has increasingly focused on instrumental music. Lindgren plays the guitar and the lute which partly explains the background to the fantasy on a song by Dowland, Shadowes That in Darknesse Dwell. Otherwise, in Pär Lindgren’s output as a whole, one can see how groups of works are united by certain extra-musical themes which provide a platform for his creativity. A number of works are based on visual forms. These include Meander, which was inspired by the sometimes strict, sometimes flowing patterns of so-called "meandering spirals". Fragments of a circle in its turn was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings. In a similar way Arabic patterns have had an influence on the distinctive sonority and interplay of melodic lines in Oaijé, a work which has attracted considerable attention and been frequently performed in international music circles.

Tamas Ungvary was born in Hungary in 1936 and has for many years lived in Sweden where he is currently responsible for the production, instruction and program development of computer music at The Electronic Music Studio (EMS) in Stockholm. Member of the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra, 1957—1967. Studies and Diploma (1969) in conducting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. After his arrival in Sweden, Ungvary's conducting activity continued together with a gradual transition to computer music composition and program development. Since 1972 Ungvary's compositions have been performed at the majority of the European and American festivals. Ungvary has held innumerable workshops and seminars in both Europe and the United States. As a composer Ungvary was influenced by Györgi Ligeti, Iannis Xenakis and the Swedish computer music pioneer Jan W. Morthenson. Ungvary's intention is to create music, that evokes an orchestral sound without the use of traditional musical instruments, but also without imitating the usual orchestra instruments. Many of his works originate from the tension between static's and dynamics of the sound material. Whenever Ungvary combines traditional instruments with computer sounds, he often directs the electronic versus instrumental sounds from a mergence into a supplementation. Furthermore, Ungvary tries to provide the player with a sense of freedom through strange notations, but at the same time tries to force him to a very well-defined textual, structural and musical style and expression.

Condition: Vinyl lies in mint- condition, looks super clean, but plays with some surface noise on some parts, while cover lies in excellent- condition with the slightest edge wear, a sticker at the bottom right (see picture) and some tape at the opening.
