SUSAN CHRISTIE

PAINT A LADY

FINDERS KEEPERS FKR007LP

A wonderful opportunity to own a rare and limited, first commercial vinyl issue of this 41 year old unreleased album of suburban folk songs

and psychedelic country standards. In immaculate condition and STILL SEALED!

'Susan Christie was a Philly based sophomore folk singer who had one novelty hit for a major label and never quite recovered. Afterwards, her

psychedelic take on country standards and handcrafted tales of inner-city solitude, backed by a break heavy folk-funk rhythm section, was never

accepted as a commercial viability by the record company big-wigs. They obviously couldn't quite muster their Nostradamus sensibilities to foresee

what future acid folk archeologists would be listening to 30 years down the line (...or what hip-hop producers and DJs would be feeding into digital

music machines in the next generation!)

Luckily a very small number of privately pressed vanity copies were manufactured in early 1970 one, of which, became the originial source material

for Finders Keepers 7th LP. The album's producer (uber legend John Hill who penned the acid-rock floor-filler 'Love, Love, Love, Love, Love' for 'Wool'

and 'Pacific Gas And Electric') has since ransacked his archives to supply the original master tapes and unplayed acetates to ensure the best psychedelic

sensory experience possible from this unearthed gem from the golden era of progressive folk.' (Taken from the sleeve notes)

Sleeve: Front image (of Susan?) in a sort of fabric-cum-tapestry styl-ee! The fabric motif continues on the rear with track listing and sleeve notes.

The thick gatefold sleeve is fully intact, with no damage. The original shrinkwrap is free of splits and holes. 75mm x 150mm vertical orange sticker on the front,

with comments from Egon (Now Again Records) and Wendy Flower (Wendy & Bonnie).

Side One: 1. Rainy Day (3:09), 2. Paint A Lady (3:22), 3. For The Love Of A Soldier (3:55), 4. Ghost Riders In The Sky (3:26)

Side Two: 1. Yesterday, Where's My Mind? (9:04), 2. Echo In Your Mind (3:17), 3. When Love Comes (2:18), 4. No One Can Hear You Cry (2:21)
