Description

ONE OF THE SCARCER TITLES, AND ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER, SURF RIDER FEATURES ART PEPPER ON ALTO SAX, RUSS FREEMAN ON PIANO, BOB WHITLOCK, BASS, AND BOBBY WHITE, DRUMS. THE VINYL WILL GRADE VG+ - IT HAS MINOR SCUFFS AND TINY SCRATCHES, FULL GLOSS, AND PLAYS VERY WELL WITH A BIT OF STATIC POP THAT SHOULD BE DAMPENED WITH A GOOD CLEANING. THE COVER GRADES VG - THE FRONT IS GLOSSY, THE CORNERS ARE BUMPED, TOP RIGHT HAS A SMALL SPLIT, AND SOMEONE HAS PENNED SMALL EYEGLASSES ON THE MODEL, AND LIGHTLY UNDERLINED A COUPLE OF LINES ON THE REVERSE.

I GRADE RECORDS AS FOLLOWS:

MINT ---- No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.

NEAR MINT ---- Has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted.

VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. There may be light scuffs and tiny scratches that do not affect play. Some of the original luster may be lost. Audible surface noise is at a minimum. Covers should have only minor signs of wear or age. Ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted.

VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Cover has varying degrees of ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, soiling, etc., which should be noted.

GOOD ---- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.

POOR ---- Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above "Good" grading will be seen as Poor.
