PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING:
Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.
OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.
Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.
Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.
We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.
We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
Thank you for your interest and support.

Columbia Records 1959 FIRST PRESSING...in glorious MONO with different song mixes from the stereo issue as well as a (different from stereo) full bold and rich monaural sound production...
Includes original Columbia Records printed inner sleeve
The pre-release 1959 (promotional) Lp is 53+ years old and truly at the top of the heap where Jazz collectors are concerned being an extinct artifact in this pressing state. While being "INSANELY RARE" it should be regarded for historic purposes as well, remaining a timeless Miles Davis prized collectible.
An artistic highlight for Miles Davis and a definitive jazz album for the world at large, Kind Of Blue set a standard of excellence when it was released in 1959. Full of luxe mystique, gentle chords and subtle, nuanced tonality crafted by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb - all geniuses in their own right. Prior to recording, the band hadn't played any of these pieces through - Miles Davis instead laid out the themes, letting the band improvise as the tape rolled. The end results were legendary.
So much has been said and written about Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue", it's virtually impossible to summarize all the necessary info to the length of this listing. We could simply list some facts (best sold Jazz album ever worldwide). The end results of the recording were fragile and wondrous. Recorded during 2 sessions in 1959, "Kind of Blue" worked on many different levels and will do so for many years to come. It's widely held that Miles Davis' 1959 album Kind of Blue is the greatest jazz album of all time. Some even believe that in some jazz style-manual or another, it is actually required that people who write or talk about it refer to it as a "seminal." While it's of course impossible to declare that any one thing is the all-time greatest of that category of thing, there's no denying that Kind of Blue is an artistic triumph, an effortless melding of masterful technique and groundbreaking composition that set the bar for every jazz album that would follow it.

CONDITION: The Cover: is overall still very solid considering being exposed to the elements for well over 50 years ... The colors are still strong (no fading) and while it's not mint, it's not far behind having only some minor issues that we'll carefully go over. While there are no split seams, there is some very light shelf rub on a little bit of the top and bottom seams, but that is only minor and picky. The spine is fine and all lettering aligned and reads clear. There appears to have been a bit of moisture near the bottom right corner resulting in very faint ripples that can only be seen in light reflection and otherwise is not apparent. The back cover does not show the minor issue. We grade the front cover near VG++ or "7" out of a 1 to 10 scale (with 10 being stone mint). We grade the back cover near "EX" (excellent) or an "8" on the 1 to 10 scale = being clean without the usual dirt and soil to the white background. Upon very close inspection there appears to have been an attempt to write a word at top right back cover, which left a light impression like the ink ran out of a pen. Very minor of course. Those are the minor issues and otherwise the cover, despite light visual handling, remains a collection worthy surviror.
The Vinyl: Both sides have retained original gloss and are relatively clear, having been handled well, near M- with no more than evidence of very light whispy inner sleeve like paper scuffs - very light visual only, and is otherwise remarkably clear visually. Play grade reflected clean audio (or a "9" on a 1 to 10 scale) with very little notice of any surface interference...we'll use the word "barely" to be more exact. Both "six-eye" white label Columbia labels are clean.
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
