Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Produced by David Blossom (leader of the legendary SF group "Fifty Foot Hose") who also is rumored to have played on the album...

Around 1975, from Oakland California, was a Hendrixy 'guitar frenzy' cat named LELAND, who released this 100 pressing homemade album (now extremely rare.)

Filled with power guitar rock moves and primitive prog edges, the album delivers long tracks, primarily featuring a heavy crunch, and the 'right' kind of sound. The use of background organ and synth mixes in a progressive edge -- in an interesting way, enhancing the atmospherics and accentuating the wild wah-wah and dirty distortion leads, which this LP centers on.

Leland, an eye-catching figure with waist long jet black hair, tights and a cape took out adverts in local publications that consisted of a photo and the word LELAND in big letters. No more info required presumably. The lyrical content & vocals are aggressive delivered with a slight edge of anger ("This is my world, I'm not gonna let you in" ) ...The band sound jittery and paranoid most of the time. The chord changes are for the most part really raw and crude but they fit the mood. Leland plays guitar, organ, synthesizer, bass and sings.

A heavy listen.

In an old warehouse in Oakland, back in 1976, I actually attended a show which promoted this very album, which overall sounded pretty much like the album. With Leland up front decked out in his cape & long hair, he depicted a mysterious figure while weilding heavy guitar work much like Hendrix displayed some years earlier -- all in all, visuals to behold. The lo-fi show, complete with color flashing lights, included a (dry ice) smoke machine for atmospherics that were fanned into the audience from behind the drum riser by no less than Lelands wife. An interesting display from underground Northern California, as one can imagine...

You'll likely not see this 'promotional' package again, limited & homemade as it was...
