Really RARE ...Original 1971 first pressing LOCAL (PRIVATE) pressing of female singer Kimberley Briggs delivering a highly formidable and effective soul-psych album, complete with fuzz & wah wah guitar and several lengthy tracks that clock in at 5+, 6+ and 14:00 minutes. The prinitive psych-cover art design is worth the score but what's inside is the real score for those into the heady sounds of steamy psoul-psych led by rich emotional vocals and trippy background arrangements...Despite the fact that she never had a hit single in her lengthy career, those who know Kim Briggs recordings will testify that her brand of emotional passion and power made her a premiere league singer. Her voice could project a sense of world-weariness and resignation like no other, making her ballads deep soul of the highest quality. "Who's Kimberly" is filled with emotionally wracked songs at which she so excelled highlighted by the 14 minute epic "What In The World's Happening To Love" with half spoken half sung vocals amid a background of big fuzz jolts and echoy organ effects moving into an emotional plea to the world to 'get together' just one more time ...the ending features a cacophony of screeching noises that makes perfect sense of why people who dig the smooth harmonies of say...The Delfonics...may not have as much affection for the happenings on this particular record. Different strokes, baby...but we're those different folks who get down with music that exists on the very fringe of whatever the established parameters may be. You don't have to call it soul music if you don't want to (although we unequivocally would), but give the Lp a spin and hear it's definitely worth owning.
....as well, the rendition of Alex Chilton's THE LETTER almost tops the original Box Tops version with a unique powerful arrangement & delivery.
The first Kimberley Briggs album, from 40 years ago, is exceedingly hard to find in any condition ... here is a MINTY clean survivor that should not be passed up....

CONDITION: The Cover: dark covers like this from 40 years ago are lucky to be found with light shelf wear, this copy a survivor "EX" (excellent) showing only very light previous use ... gotta be one of the better examples of this ultra rarity around ... no split seams, no bends, no writing...
The Vinyl: Highly glossy over both sides, well handled "EX" (excellent) no sratches, play graded TOP level clean...the labels are both clean....this is a tiop copy for a 40 year old private press.
