PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
OFF-THE-CHARTS RARE postwar blues 78 from 1950(?) on the maroon Orchid label out of Baltimore with Leaving Home Blues on the B-side!!! Release year is assumed to be 1950 but cannot be confirmed as there isn't a single entry for this disc anywhere in the massive, sprawling Discogs database whatsoever. Even the Orchid label only has one 78 rpm entry, the hideously rare Rev. M.E. Holmes And Congregation gospel disc Jesus Is The Light/O' Jesus, Let Me Ride. ZERO Google hits for this 78. Insanely rare. Both songs are on Youtube, amazingly, so someone found this 78 somewhere at some point but it doesn't appear on any blues comps in Discogs. This one is for serious blues collectors only. Disc has some feelable scratches at around 3:00 on side B and a few others that can be lightly felt but certainly isn't beat to death like most postwar blues 78s by any stretch and still has a nice sheen. I don't have a 78rpm player so unfortunately I can't play test it but these old 78s were pretty resilient playback-wise so it should play through. Labels are in amazingly nice shape. Don't sleep blues collectors. If you've never seen it before you won't see it again.

GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
