This one hurts to sell. By far the best handpainted cover I have ever seen on a Sun Ra album..including the ones chosen for printing in the Omniverse book. This one is an absolute jewel! This one is signed by Sun Ra, and according to the fellow I bought this from, was painted by Sun Ra himself as well! He bought this from a gig in Philadelphia. I acquired it from him around 10 years ago or so privately. Of course I cannot prove his story is true, but he lived in Philadelphia and mailed me the album from there. I had no reason to doubt him as I bought a few other choice Saturns from his collection as well. True or not, this cover is astounding! Vinyl is for the most part NM but each side has a tiny needle cluster mark and one side has a pressing dimple. So I'll be conservative and call it VG+. Playback is actually very nice and definitely EX. A chance of a lifetime to acquire a true top shelf handpainted Saturn!
Recent circumstances have forced me to sell about half of my Sun Ra collection including most of my Saturns. These have been amassed over the last 20 years and are all in very nice condition; no trashed copies here. Please see my other auctions for more rare Sun Ra gems!
