Description
This rare LP from Sun Ra and His Arkestra features the iconic Sleeping Beauty release title, originally pressed in 1979 by El Saturn Records. This vinyl record is very rare especially in this condition.
The sleeve and record grading are Very Good (VG) and a conservative Very Good (VG), respectively. The catalog number is 11-1-79 as seen in the dead wax.
Rare combo of one orange label on the sleeping Beauty side and white label in springtime/door of the cosmos side. Common xerox copy labels that were hand glued to record as a lot of early Saturn albums had.
Slight crackle on both sides and some small dimples, that my turntable played through without assistance. The album has not been cleaned and may improve with a good ultrasonic clean.
Sleepy beauty label does have a Sun Ra signature. It may be part of the label or an actual signature. The signature is a little more grainy than the rest of the label but the colors are very close to the same. It maybe a signature from the xerox page that the label was made from. I haven’t seen it on any other labels.
The album will be double boxed, insured, and I will add a signature upon delivery. This is a rare find, happy bidding.
