'Misunderstood'

SECOND AND arguably the heavier of their two albums featuring a couple of new boys in lead vocalist Rob Elliott and Tony Brock from prog rockers Spontaeneous Combustion (later to provide muscle for expat rockers the Babys). The music here is touch and gutsy, very much in the Bad Company/Faces style. Very English and very cock rock before it all got rather silly in that department.

Rob Elliots vocals are reminiscent of Roger Chapman and the guitar playing has all the hallmarks of that great early seventies hip swing pioneered by Ronnie Wood, Mick Ralphs and Jimmy Page. Closest band comparisons are probably Humble Pie, the Faces, Rory Gallagher and Bad Company...thick juicy riffing, ball squeezing vocals, explosive percussion and a deep rumble in the bottom end.

Saw this band several times during their heyday and they allways delivered massively. Just a great heads down no nonsense bunch of heavy blues rockers with a point to proove and audience heads to crack.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: GM, UK, 1974

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. Maybe one or two spindle marks (hard to see) but very little signs of any use. Grades as near shop fresh MINT-!

Cover: Again no signs of use. Issued in a superbly designed single sleeve retaining full printers bloom. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight, stiff and uncrushed. Grades as shop fresh MINT-!
