This week, I continue a commemoration of the life and career in historic recordings of one of classical music's most gifted and prolific Conductors, Leopold Stokowski.
Offered is the premiere recording of a work that Stokowski would champion and record several times during his long career: Stravinsky's Petrouchka.
This is the legendary 1923-24 Victor acoustical recording-abridged- performed by the young Eugene Goosens and The Royal Albert Hall Orchestra.
In its special soft hard text note inner sleeve cover, this set of single discs is in remarkably good overall condition of E/E-. Note, one side has small rim flake to groove: not affecting performance. Spine has lite age damage.
