Description
Hi All, the thinning out continues. This time we have for your consideration:
Title: STARNGE DAYS BY THE DOORS
Cat No: EKS 74014 – STEREO
Issue: Not too sure if this is a 1st issue – but it’s on the Reddish Orange ELEKTRA Label
Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as VG+; the vinyl has retained some of its gloss and sheen and is quite presentable and clean. A few light scratches and marks on each side, however, these are of the non-feeable variety and commensurate with age and the grade allocated.
Vinyl Condition Playback: For most part the playback grades as VG+; audible crackle and static for the 1st few revolutions of the run-in on side 1 but this ceases before the music commences. Thereafter it plays through with occasional light clicks and pops in places. On side 2 loud crackles for the 1st minute of ‘People Are Strange’ but this then ceases; thereafter light/mild and occasional clicks and pops. Overall however, whilst not perfect, aside from the aforementioned issues, there’s little lessening in the overall sound quality. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and there are no skips or jumps.
Label Condition: EX-; light spindle marks but no other blemishes or damage; all text is clean and legible.
Cover Front: The front cover Grades as VG; the laminated front is clean and damage free. There are very few creases or folds in the laminate, however, there is a thin (2mm wide) mark that runs across the cover appx 2 inches from the bottom edge; not too sure what or how this is caused but it is unobtrusive. The main image is clean and clear and all edges are secure with no splits at all. Opening edge is quite good with just a few dings.
Cover Back: The laminated flip-back back cover is as for the front VG; damage free and very clean. No writing blemishes rips or tears at all and very little in the way of age related rubbing.
Spine: The spine is VG, rounded off but intact no splits and all the text is legible.
Corners: VG; all a little bumped and a bit of colour loss.
Inner: Original Doors Inner with lyrics in VG condition; minor staining.
Summary: A very nice playable copy of this classic album and again another difficult one to find. Despite the audible static as mentioned above it is an enjoyable and playable copy worthy of filling a gap in your collection.
Postage: With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no-nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
Payment: Most unusually I have had a few non-payers recently; therefore, please only bid if you intend to pay for the item within 7 day’s. Thank you. .
