Description

An impossibly rare set of Mint condition test pressings for the Stooges 50th Anniversary Complete Fun House Sessions, released in 2020 by Elektra Records, including two extra unissued variant discs, .

The commercial release of this highly collectible box set, issued in a limited edition of 1970 copies, featured 15 180-gram Black Vinyl LPs, including a two-disc 45 RPM version of Fun House with an etched 4th side, twelve discs of The Complete Fun House Sessions, and Have Some Fun: Live At Ungano's.

Also included were two 7" discs: replicas of  “Down On The Street” (Mono Single Edit)/ “I Feel Alright” (Mono Single Edit) and “Down On The Street” (Single Mix)/ “I Feel Alright” (Single Mix).

This variant set of test pressings includes all of the discs above, but differs in the following ways:

-The second disc of the 45 RPM version of Fun House is blank (normally it would have had an etching.)

-There are two single-sided etched discs, labelled on the sleeves as 'Etching Option 1' and 'Etching Option 2'.  Option 2, with an image of Iggy crowd surfing, was chosen, and Option 2, with artwork from the album cover, remains unreleased.

A very rare opportunity to acquire 17 LPs and 2 45 RPM test pressings of prime-era Stooges, all in Mint condition, each in a labelled generic sleeve.

Note: This will be shipped at cost, please wait for invoice after purchase.

We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked.

Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
