Silvertone Records

Catalogue number OR T 13

Released 1989

Manufactured in the E.E.C

Sleeve

This is the original slightly texture, non glossy sleeve. It has the sticker for the artwork that came with it, unfortunately I don’t have said artwork anymore, so it is not included. The sleeve still looks great with no marks or stains, no sticker marks and no hand written names. Virtuall no creasing and no splits. In fact there is very little sign of edge wear and no ring marks. The corners are mostly sharp with only minor rubbing to the tips, the top right front corner has more wear than the others and a little 6mm split. There are no other splits in the sides. The spine is solid and all text is clearly visible. The opening edge is nice and flat too. I’m surprised how well this sleeve looks.

Inner sleeve:

This too is in excellent condition. It’s a white paper sleeve with “care for your record” printed text in French. I will also be supplying a white paper inner along with this for shipping purposes.

Labels

Top looking labels, very fresh. No writing ,no stickers. Some mild spindle marks is about all to note. Both labels grade an easy excellent.

Stamper/ matrix info:

Side one: ORE(T) A-1 FES-2

Side two: OR T 13 AA2

Side one audio grade

Ok, this is a super booming mix, heaps of low end. Perfect audio, clean and crisp, no pops or ticks, no jumps. No crackle throughout. A little bit on the fade out but that’s it. A surprisingly good playback. This side easily grades as excellent if not better.

 Side one visual grade

Again a bright looking side with no deep scratches and some mild hairlines. I’ll grade this side very good too.

 Side two audio grade

Ok, here we go. I’m writing this as I listen to it. Silent lead in has a bit of low crackle. Wow! This mix is super loud, ok, no obvious crackle now, just deep bass, crisp drums and vocals. It just keeps up sounding amazing, I can’t believe how loud this mix is. The wah phased guitars sounding so good. So that’s that side done, really good audio. No pops or clicks no jumps. Some mild crackle in the silent lead in and out but that’s all. Im grading the audio as Excellent almost excellent plus.

Side two visual grade

Very glossy with great sheen. I see no hard scratches, I do see some long fine light “scratches” which unless mentioned in the audio grading do not appear during playback, they look pretty superficial. There are a few other fine marks, but nothing to write home about. I’m going to grade this side as very good.

 Final thoughts

This has been a surprise grading this as it has been so long since I last played it. I forgot what a loud mix this 12” has, really full sounding. Cover in in good shape, discs have some light marks but they really haven’t come up during playing. The audio sounds great to me with no problems to note.

GRADING

I use the U.K Rare Record Guide grading system detailed below.

MINT The LP or single is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT The LP or single shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD The LP or single has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and an occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and contents without any major defects.

GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

All records come with a protective poly sleeve, and new white inner. Records are shipped outside of the sleeve within reinforced cardboard packaging to ensure safety during transit.
