PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Rare Earth in Concert was the most expansive live recording ever issued by Motown Records. What's more, it all works in terms of being an honest representation of this band -- playing to an audience was what they'd been about from the start. In addition to capturing the band in top form, the recording itself provided a beautifully vivid sound picture, every instrument and voice captured spot-on, all the more amazing considering the size of this band and the complexities of their sound -- flutes, guitars (acoustic and electric), keyboards, winds, percussion, and more are all here in close detail, but nothing more solid in the mix than John Persh's lead bass work in the middle section of the 23-and-a-half-minute "Get Ready."
While RARE EARTH weren't prolific songwriters, they may be the only band who could play your song better than you could.
RARE EARTH-IN CONCERT: An awesome concert capsule of DETROIT's only white self-contained rockin' funk act, RARE EARTH had such an authentic lock on down 'n dirty RNB, many listeners assumed they were a Motown group. A natural misconception, given the supercharged influence of macho bloozey belter/drummer PETER RIVERA's gritty vocal chops, and the band's well-honed psychedelic soul instrumentation. Their earthy song cover choices were spot-on as well, from the classic 20 minute recasting of GET READY (which gave 'em all a chance to stretch out and solo their chops off) to tantilizin' throwdowns of WHAT'D I SAY and the intense cooker: I KNOW I'M LOSING YOU. All the expected chestnuts, from the loud and proud anthem I JUST WANNA CELEBRATE to the jazz-stoked BORN TO WANDER (featuring GIL BRIDGES' tasty woodwinds) receive the patented Rare Earth treatment here, making IN CONCERT a more than worthy souvenir of this jam band's immense raw power in a live setting.
