Description

LP titled 'Hard Road- by Stevie Wright.

'Hard Road' - is the first solo album by Stevie Wright, released in 1974, produced by George Young, Harry Vanda and Stevie Wright.

This the original Australian 1974 release by Albert Productions and EMI records APLP 005 - it is the earliest release of this record as it has a promotional 'SAMPLE ONLY - NOT FOR SALE'  sticker on it and the original cover without the later diagonal cover text in the right hand corner of the boxed sky "Includes the hit EVIE (parts 1.2&3)" - you will see see this cover does not have this text - indicating it was manufactured prior to 'Evie' becoming a hit.

'Cover' is in 'Very Good (VG)' condition :  the spine is flat and has creases, there is edge wear and soft corners.  Front cover has ring wear, some creases & scuffs, and a 'SAMPLE ONLY - NOT FOR SALE'  sticker in the top right corner.  Back cover has ring wear, some creases & scuffs, and a 2 cm tear on the left middle edge.

'Record' is in 'Very Good Plus (VG+)' condition :  this record plays great and has a strong sound - both sides are glossy - there are many light scuff marks and light micro scratches which can be seen under a bright light - there are no skips or jumps - there are no pops or clicks - but there is some very light crackle between tracks and in the quite passages.  Both labels have good colour and no writing - under a bright light I can see both labels have some micro surface scuffing.

Overall a great playable copy of this record - but there is some very light surface noise between tracks and in the quite passages.

Record Grading Guide (all of my LPs are play graded before listing)

Near Mint (NM)    Record in like new condition with no surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any inclusions like lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Near Mint - (NM-)   Record and cover are slightly below the NM grade with only one imperfection but generally flawless.

Excellent (Ex)   Record may have sleeve marks from being pulled in and out of a cover but these marks will only be visible under a bright light. Generally will play through like a NM- with minimal to no surface noise.  Cover may have light storage wear, light creasing, light edge wear but nothing distracting or major.

Very Good + (VG+)   Record will have visible scuffs or light scratches which are not deep enough to deteriorate sound quality.  VG+ records may have slight surface noise only noticeable in quiet passages of music or at the beginning of the record or between tracks.  This slight surface noise will not overwhelm the listening experience.  Cover may have general storage wear, creasing, ring wear, edge wear.

Very Good (VG)   Record will have many visible hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of low level surface noise throughout.  A great play copy but the record has clearly been played many times.  Cover may have heavier storage wear than normal, with splits, creasing, ring wear, edge wear, writing, stains, sticker residue or some discolouration.

Good (G)  not applicable - I do not own or list any records with intolerable surface noise, noticeably deteriorated sound or with skips or jumps.
