Cover: M- in shrink (back shrink is torn)
Disc: EX+ ( a few sleeve scuffs, might benefit from a proper machine cleaning, but is still VERY nice!)
However, there are a couple of small pressing imperfections: the vinyl makes some light noise during parts of "Driftin'" side 1 track 6 and there is a pressing mark on side 2 that does not affect play.
Beautiful copy of this ultra-rare California boho folk blues artifact.

While doing some final research for this listing, I found out that Steve Mann passed away just last month. RIP.

Mann was a musician's musician whose talent was reputedly on a genius/savant level. He was well-known in the Bay Area and L.A. as a killer folk/blues guitarist and was a big influence on Jorma Kaukonen, who named "Mann's Fate" after him. He collaborated with Janis Joplin, Zappa, Dr. John, Jefferson Airplane and many others in various studio gigs and jam sessions, but his real rep lay as an astonishingly talented acoustic blues player. He had this extremely rare LP pressed up in limited quantities by Custom Fidelity in 1967. Check the back for some great liner notes by producer Dick Rosmini.
After Mann left the scene due to mental health problems, a couple more now-rare LPs were released in the 1970s, live recordings and odds & ends, but this, his first album, is the real deal studio recording.
Long rumored to be dead, Mann resurfaced in the Bay Area not long ago with the help of devoted friends and spent his final years jamming (chops fully intact, apparently) giving lessons and trouncing opponents with his formidable chess game!
