While still controlled American rights to the Beatles' first album, Introducing The Beatles, the Vee-Jay label now released a slightly different abridgement under the title Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles. ("Ask Me Why" and "Please Please Me" were restored, and "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" deleted). This was the same version they had released only 11 days earlier as one-half of The Beatles Vs. The Four Seasons. - ............................................................................................................................
- AS MANY OF YOU KNOW ... THE STEREO VERSION OF THIS LEGENDARY 1963 PRESSING IN STEREO is IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AND OF THE MOST HIGHLY DESIRED
- ............................................................................................................................
- On July 22, 1963, Vee Jay Records released what was the first Beatles' album in America. It was released in two versions; the monaural (#VJLP1062) and in far & away much harder to find stereo (#SR1062), and the STEREOPHONIC issue, today, is one of the most valuable of all The Beatles' albums.
Vee-Jay and Capitol battled in court throughout the early part of 1964.
- The Beatles and Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles remained on the Billboard LP charts only until January 9,1965.
