Realtime Records RTA 1000 (U.S. stereo, 1983) 'Opening Act', by Stencil Forest. Very rare prog - progressive rock LP from this Elkhart, Indiana local act. Various synth keyboards, multiple blazing guitars. Following is a review found on the web: 'This was one of the great surprises this year when I tracked the record down by this band from Indiana. I put it on my turntable and couldn't believe my ears. I had never heard of this band and bought it pure on speculation.  There are eight songs on the album and almost every song is a winner. This band had it all. Great song quality, lots of keys and the right amount of guitar. The production is limited like a lot of private presses, but who cares. Take a listen to the song 'Crossroads' (with great keyboard intro), the beautiful ballad 'Just A Fantasy', the titlesong, and the more progressive tracks 'The Pandemonium Shadow Show', 'Five Stud Poker Player' ( great keyboard outtro) - you know what I mean. This band deserved better than fading in obscurity. As you can expect, this record is very rare and a nightmare to track down. But collectors  must search for it at the earliest opportunity.' .  . Line up: Doug Andresen (lead and backing vocals), Frank Casella (keyboards, guitars, vocals), Rick Casella (Keyboards, vocals), Rob Nilsen (guitars, vocals), Scott Noyes (bass, vocals), Stand Swaim (drums, percussion). . . . The name Casella is prominent in Indiana rock history. In the mid to late 60's, the late John Casella played keyboards for The Chosen Few, who cut an LP for RCA, and later became known as Faith Band, cutting several LPs. John later went on to play keyboards for John Cougar Mellencamp. Whether or not the Casellas of this band are related is anybody's guess, but I suspect that this is the same family. Cover is VG++, tiny bit of wear top, center front. Vinyl is VG+. There are a few scratches on side 1, but no impact on playability. Otherwise clean. .. I use only new, quality LP mailers.
