Description
A Sealed copy of Pretzel Logic with a promo cut corner. In the 1970s, labels and distributors would cut or notch a corner of the jacket to mark a copy as non-returnable. This served two overlapping purposes:
Promo marking – some labels used a cut corner (sometimes combined with a gold "PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE" stamp) instead of pressing entirely separate white-label promos. This record DOESN'T contain a gold promo stamp Cutout marking – overstock that was discounted and non-returnable to the label for credit.
For a record described as both "promo" and "cut corner," the most likely scenario is a commercial pressing (black label) that was gold-stamped and saw-cut for promotional distribution, rather than a true white-label promo pressing.
The cut corner is the physical identifier that it was pulled from the commercial run and designated for broadcast/review, so it probably is a commercial copy not a white label. A cut corner copy is typically a commercial black-label pressing that was marked up for promo use
