Description
Up for auction is a super nice copy of the album "Steamin' With the Miles Davis Quintet" released on Prestige Records (PRLP 7200) in 1961. This is a guaranteed original deep groove, mono, first pressing. RVG stamped in the run-out.
High gloss laminated first pressing cover is in beautiful shape. No ring wear, tears. Lamination is still completely intact, no separations, tears or lifts. Seams are strong, intact, no splits, no cracking or rubbing to speak of. A couple very tiny chips from a couple corners (see photo) are the only real flaws that I can see. Back cover is beautiful, bone-white, no writing, staining, or common age discoloration or foxing. Top middle has a faint shadow of where it looks like a former sticker of some kind has fallen off--no glue residue however left behind. I'd grade the cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).
Vinyl looks super clean, retaining its original high gloss finish. No obvious scratches or scuffs. No marks around spindle holes, indicating very little previous handling. One area on one side shows where the original inner sleeve may have adhered to the vinyl, but it is faint and does not affect play back. Perhaps another area where the disc was rubbed a little from taking the disc out for inspection a few times. I have play tested this record, and it sounds really nice and clean, full bodied mono sound. Nothing to distract you from the music to speak of.
One of the better copies you'll come across. I'd grade the vinyl Near Mint Minus (NM-). 100% guaranteed satisfaction, no risk buying.
