CLASSIC BLUES British blues boom album very much cut from the same cloth as Savoy Brown, Chicken Shack, Fleetwood Mac and the Bluesbreakers. Uptempo 12 bar blues with customary lead guitar extravaganza's (from the highly talented Martin Pugh) and howling vocals courtesy of Kieran White. Lead off track 'Junior's Wailing' was covered successfully by Status Quo a couple of years later. Indeed, many hard rock fans still think that Quo wrote the song!
This is one of my favourite blues boom albums. Savoy Brown always overstayed their welcome whilst the Shack often didn't have the songs to back up the bluster and Mac were far to trad for my liking. 'Reflections' showcases a band heavily influenced by the blues but brave enough to incorporate melodic songs writing techniques. 'Even The Clock' and 'Down The Highway' are a great examples of the later - the flute motif is a godsend whilst the melodies are wonderfully sublime.
Amazingly, the Hammer didn't quite storm the UK charts like their contemporaries but they did manage to leave a lasting legacy of great albums and this is no exception to the rule.

Vinyl: Nice condition. Spindle marks visible on labels and light signs of use - surface scuffs and one audible scratch on the first track side two. Grades as a nice Vg+
Cover: Again, only minimal signs of use. Issued in a 'unipak' style gatefold cover. Neat sharp corners, no dings, no ring wear, no creases and no bends. Spine is straight, stiff and totally unworn. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 48 years after release. Grades as top MINT-!
