In nearly 30 years of record collecting, I have owned many copies of this great QUO album, but this is the first time I have come across a true 1st issue pressing of the QUO's 3rd VERTIGO album Released in 1973. With SILVER TEXT on the back of the sleeve, lyric inner and poster, this is a rare and complete package .
I would describe the Matt sleeve (printed by ROBOR LIMITED) as near EXCELLENT. It is extremely clean and free from any ring wear, tears or writings etc. They do not turn up often in this sort of condition. The foil text on the front is perfect, a really nice example. What stops me calling it MINT, is the negligible scuffing from storage, and a little edge wear at the top corner of the spine. But as these usually turn up battered & heavily worn, this seems like nit-picking. The lyric inner is present, and is also very clean & free from any vandalism, splits or tears, but shows some light creasing. The large fold out black & white poster, showing the original QUO line up (including Lancaster & Coghlan) is very clean, and free from signs that it has ever graced a wall. These posters usually turn up heavily worn, with pin holes, and covered in tape residue. This is an exceptionally nice example and would look great framed.
I would describe the Vinyl as EXCELLENT - both visually and audibly. It has a few light hairline surface marks but nothing major. The label is clean on both sides. It is a well cared for classic QUO album. For anyone who has never heard this, the tracks on this LP are ROLLOVER LAY DOWN - CLAUDIE - A REASON FOR LIVING - BLUE EYED LADY - CAROLINE - SOFTER RIDE - AND IT'S BETTER NOW - FORTY FIVE HUNDRED TIMES
I cannot emphasise the rareness of an album in this condition enough. A Quo collector's collection would be incomplete without it.
As a collector myself, I know how frustrating and disappointing it is to receive a tatty item which bare little resemblance to the description given. I try hard to be as accurate as I can when grading, and use all sources available - including the 'Record Collector Grading System'. So it is safe to assume that I would never neglect to mention glaringly obvious vandalism such as writing on the label or sleeve - which, to my continual amazement and repeated disappointment, have been omitted from purchases I have made of late. Which is why I will continue to give bad feedback to all those I believe have deliberately given misleading information in order to sell shoddy stock. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, I will reimburse the full purchase price. However, to discourage unreasonable buyers who have simply 'changed their minds' after receiving their purchase; the refund will not include the cost of postage and listing fees.
