Description

STACK 'Above All' LP (Spain, Out-Sider Records, Catalogue #OSR022) Brand new/unplayed copy of Out-Sider Records label edition of ULTRA-RARE 1969 ALL-TIME TOP WORLDWIDE HEAVY ROCK/HARD ROCK MONSTER ALBUM from Los Angeles, California band Stack. SAVAGE CAVEMAN POUNDING DRUMS AND SLEDGEHAMMER HEAVY ROCK GUITAR BLOWOUTS SUPREME! Easily the rarest late '60 American private-press hard rock album of all time as well. Had these guys had the backing and production of one of the American major labels at the time, the average classic rock radio listener would be talking about these guys in the same realms of The Who, Cream, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple (and Iron Butterfly and Vanilla Fudge, for good measure as well.) "Bonehead Crunchers," come on down!

(NOTE: LIMITED VINYL EDITION!)

'Definitive reissue of this wild and heavy psychedelic hard-rock album from California, 1969, released in tiny quantities at the time. Ultra-loud guitars (think Blue Cheer or late '60s Who), melodic vocals and a thundering rhythm section. Features newly-remastered sound and features the original artwork and an insert with extensive liner notes by genre expert Clark Faville and lots of rare pictures/memorabilia. Includes a bonus track taken from a previously-unreleased acetate.'

"Early LA hardrock blowout with a British sound and Who and Led Zep influences; not everything works but the best tracks go into ferocious guitar excursions that are among the best anywhere. Teenage punk vocals work well and it's a loud upfront mother from start to finish. Almost glamrocky in its self-assured yet convincing 'rock' postures, and indeed ahead of its time. Mandatory to any hardrock fan, although originals are genuinely rare (like $3000-4000 rare). One member was in garage legends the Fabs before this. The band appeared in a Pepsi Cola commercial, supplied background music for the classic teen flick Wild In The Streets, and had a major label contract within reach, but it didn't happen." - Patrick Lundborg/Acid Archives

"Above All is one of the few pure and willfully heavy hard rock albums that rank as both incredibly rare and ultimately essential to a collection of American Rock." - Clark Faville
