• ARTIST: Spot & The Blotters
• LABEL: Equal  *Michigan Label - produced in Grand Rapids, Michigan
• CATALOG #: 459601
• YEAR: 196?
• A SIDE: Circulating
• B SIDE: Soul Circle  *soaring funk groove instrumental composition of the "Circulating" track with prominent organ groove, strong bass line, a busy horn section, and nice wah-wah funky guitar sound, all interwoven and building to this climatic crescendo, that suddenly drops off to the thin sound of just a 'bongo/conga' soloing with basic guitar chords and simple drums till the end. WOW!
• GRADING STANDARDS:  Click here to view grading standards
• VINYL GRADE A/B: VG+/VG++   play grade
• NOTES: Even though there are surface marks and blems, the only real noise distortion on Side A were several medium pop/clicks at the very beginning of track before vocals begin, and an isolated pop towards the very end. The balance of the 45 played excellent, very strong and clean. Side B also has some surface blems, but they produced an absolute minimum of surface noise. Very impressive, rich and full sound! There is a small piece of scotch tape on label, and both sides of label are a bit worn as seen in photos.
• PRICING INFO: Jerry Osborne's 2007 Official Record Price Guide lists a Near Mint copy of this 45 at between $225 to $275.
• SLEEVE: Generic sleeve provided
• INFO:  Information gleaned from blogs indicate Spot and the Blotters  played the West Michigan circuit, but may have originated from Chicago. 'Spot' was a travelling stand-up comedian who somehow got incorporated into the Blotters act. Their name originated from the fact that Spot was black and the Blotters were white.  P.J. Spice, who receives a production credit on the 45, is in fact a pseudonym of Palmer James, of Al Greene/People's Choice (Wood City) fame. The Spot & the Blotters single was recorded on a whim, two days after Palmer saw the group play live in Grand Rapids. This is an unbelievable funk/soul rarity that 'has to be heard' to understand just how good it is!

                                                                                                PACKAGING & SHIPPING

• All records are packaged in new water-resistant poly mailers and sandwiched between a double layer of cardboard. All records are sent with a generic sleeve, unless the 45 is sold with a picture sleeve. In that case, the record will be sent with a generic sleeve and separated from the picture sleeve to prevent any seam splitting. Both the record and picture sleeve will then be shipped inside of a poly sleeve.
• A shipping discount is available when buying more than one item. You can either request a quote prior to purchase, or purchase multiple items and wait for an invoice with a shipping charge for the combined items.
• Insurance is optional for U.S. shipping and the $1.75 listed on the invoice would provide coverage up to $50. If greater coverage is desired, please advise before making payment and I will send a revised invoice with the correct fee.

• I will not be able to ship items selling for over $50 by First Class Mail International since no insurance or tracking information is available with this freight option. If item value is over $50 you must select either Priority or Express Mail  International to ship your item!
• The first $100 of insurance is free when shipping via Priority Mail and even higher amount via Express Mail,  with additional insurance also available for a fee. The fee is based on the weight of the parcel and the value of the contents, so please request a quote and I will provide that information.
