(A beautiful thick very heavy vinyl 1968 UK first pressing which still retains its full gloss and sheen showing only a couple of faint light paper surface marks and a few very faint inaudible wispy hairlines (seen under strong bright light). The vinyl has only been played sporadically and very carefully handled in the 43 years I have owned it from new!. The record delivers stunning excellent audio throughout with great powerful sound clarity and only very occasional very minor static on record run-in. A magnificent original UK Island Pink label 1st pressing of this CLASSIC album. Finding a better original copy of this elusive and 100% genuine original first pressed Island classic will prove extremely difficult indeed! A superb visual copy that is super clean, shiny, intense black and very heavily pressed. A copy with only light use on all the evidence. Visually a superb record that should please many collectors. This wonderful record plays even above its high visual grading with practically nothing to fault. Strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear - sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Any surface sounds are minimal indeed and no significant pops or clicks were noted and this is an exceptional clean pressing. Few copies will outperform this very early pressing significantly I feel sure. Both channels are clean and sharp. I have owned this record from new and it has been played very lightly and has been very carefully handled. These vintage albums rarely escape a few faint surface blemishes or hairlines and this example sets the bar high. Nothing spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this wonderful record. VINYL PLAYS SUPERBLY....A TOP COPY! This copy will prove very difficult to find significantly better and can be strongly recommended!! This could be the copy you have been waiting for......Don't miss out!)
Labels: Mint-
(Original pink labels with orange eyeball logo. The labels are deeply textured with a really rough and rustic finish and include the deep inner ridge (please see my label scans). Both very clean and attractive with only a very few light and faint spindle marks. Beautiful virtually blemish free labels)
LP Sleeve: EX
(A single fully laminated format made with very thin and soft card. Printed and made in England. Lamination – Front & Back: The laminate retains a lovely shine and clarity with hardly any dulling. There is mild record rim impression which is nigh-on unavoidable with a 160 gram record inside for well over 40 years. There are a couple of creases on the front left side near the spine edge and a fine laminate lift near the bottom edge on the front. Nothing serious to detract from the beauty of the sleeve. The very psychedelic artwork looks superb both sides with vibrant, fresh colour retained. The ends where the laminate ends a little short have darkened a little with just a couple of fine and small surface scuffs. Overall both sides look exceptionally nice indeed as I hope my pictures confirm. All seams are very sharp, the spine is unworn, near perfect and arrow straight with all text bold and fully legible under the solid laminate. The open out edge has no feathering or trimming. The corner tips are sharp and neat with only the lower right having a minor small surface pull. Overall this is a beautiful very fine all round example of this attractive and fragile late 60’s cover, one that will prove very difficult to find much better. Do not underestimate just how delicate, light and flimsy this highly damage-prone cover is, made even more so with a very heavy record inside. It is graded a conservative EXCELLENT.

1968 UK original 1st PRESSING issue of this BRILLIANT and RARE UK ISLAND RECORDS PINK LABEL PROG/PSYCH GEM
On offer here is a truly EXCELLENT TOP CONDITION original 1968 UK 1st PRESS vinyl LP of the great debut SPOOKY TOOTH album titled "IT'S ALL ABOUT", released on the UK Island Records 1st PRESS PINK label.
This legendary UK 60s five piece band, featuring dual vocals and keyboards plus guitar, bass and drums delivered one of the finest debut albums released during the golden 66-73 period. Here is a stunning top condition original 1968 UK 1st Pressing of this great lp.
Classic debut from this band that made several album for Island Records, this being the rarest by some distance. This is the one most collectors want and is regarded as a classic, blending psych with progressive elements. This very heavy pressing on the original format labels is one of the earliest ever made and it plays beautifully throughout, with stunning sound clarity. With just a tiny few ultra faint surface paper blemishes on the record, clean unmarked pink labels, it has faired exceptionally well for its considerable vintage, all evidence strongly suggests very few plays. The beautiful fully laminated cover has also survived the years very well too with only very light wear. Most collectors will really enjoy it I feel sure.
Although very much an album of its time (1968), this was Spooky Tooth's most diverse and accomplished album overall. The music encompasses an intoxicating mix of psychedelia, progressive rock, blues, folk and 60s r&b. The album begins with "Society's Child" an incredible cover of the Janis Ian song. This is followed by some storming tracks like "Too Much of Nothing" & "Forget It I Got It" interspersed with a mix of ballads (It Hurts You So) and typical UK late 60s psychedelia (Roundabout, Bubbles). There is some excellent guitar work from Luther Grosvenor throughout the album. Other highlights include the wonderfully catchy "Love Really Changed Me" (check out that irresistable keyboard riff!), "Tobacco Road", the harpsichord-accompanied title track, and the fabulous "Sunshine Help Me" which closes out the first side of this great lp.
"It's All About" is undoubtedly one of the high points of Island's early progressive catalogue.
This fabulous condition original UK PINK ISLAND 1st PRESS LP is a 'must have' and quite essential for 60's psych/prog fans and ISLAND LABEL collectors alike. If you've got a few quid to spare then this would be a very wise investment!!
