For sale here is a VERY rare LP.THE FIRST (especially in this condition) by THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP called " THEIR FIRST LP " and is an ORIGINAL 1965 UK  MONO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press FONTANA label.THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS ONE OF THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP's RAREST LP's EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN SUPERB CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1965 MONO 1st PRESSING ON THE 1st PRESS FONTANA LABEL. 1st PRESS 1 L/ 2L MATRIXES, AND 1st PRESS FRONT LAMINATED  SLEEVE ...THIS LP IS MEGA MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL FONTANA UK MONO 1st pressing from 1965 and is in SUPERB condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. TL  5242 on the 1st PRESS FONTANA label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK MONO 1st Pressing..

Labels are the sensational silver/black textured FONTANA format in excellent condition . With the FONTANA logo above the central holes on both sides of the labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has some minor spindle lines but no damage of any kind. NO graffiti , NO rips NO tears or stickers and would therefore grade as  excellent ++condition.!

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight  vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic.Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees , There are NO surface marks,NO scratches NO blemishes at all, Only a few tiny faint wispy lines are visible whatsoever!!. A remarkable visual and impossible to locate  in this in this condition! and would therefore grade as excellent+++ The vinyl has a beautiful full sheen which would be impossible to find on a record of  44 years old!!!!....

Sleeve

First issue front lamimated  sleeve is in excellent ++ condition for a record of  44 years old!!!..Showing only a very small amount laminate wear lines close to the edge and spine ,virtually no ring wear!!!.The sleeve has NO rips,NO tears and absolutley NO graffitti whatsoever,and is a pleasure to view.The sleeve is in excellent+++ condition and a Fantastic collectors item . The Spine is straight and clearly legible.This is a fine example of this sensational FONTANA  classic !!!

The Spencer Davis Group was a mid 1960s British beat group from Birmingham, England. In their heyday the group consisted of Spencer Davis, Steve Winwood, Muff Winwood and Pete York; Jimmy Miller was their producer.

Spencer Davis (born 17 July 1939, Swansea, Wales) moved to Birmingham from London in 1960 to study.[1] In 1963, he recruited the Winwood brothers and started the Spencer Davis Group. The band performed regularly in the city and were signed to a recording contract after an appearance in a local club.

The group's first professional recording was a cover version of "Dimples", but they came to success at the end of 1965 with "Keep On Running", the group's first number one single. In 1966 they followed this with "Somebody Help Me" and "When I Come Home". For the German market the group released "Det war in Schöneberg, im Monat Mai" and "Mädel ruck ruck ruck an meine grüne Seite" (the first is from a 1913 Berlin operetta, the second is a Swabian traditional) as a tribute single for that audience, Spencer Davis having studied in West Berlin in the early 1960s.

By the end of 1966 and the beginning of 1967, the group released two more hits, "Gimme Some Lovin'" (which was re-released in a live, nine-minute version by Steve Winwood's Traffic in 1971) and "I'm a Man". These tracks proved to be their two best-known successes, especially in the U.S.

In 1967, Winwood left to form Traffic; his brother Muff moved into the music industry as A&R man at Island Records. In a so-called joint venture, the soundtrack to the film Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush featured both the Spencer Davis Group and Traffic.

my records are condition graded visually in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
