A FOOL AGAIN/PLEDGE OF LOVE (Bolo 741 1st pressing, 1963): UNPLAYED MINT in SEALED SLEEVE!

This 45 is guaranteed UNPLAYED MINT, in a sealed sleeve!  It's been 50 years since this very rare single was released, and we've only got one in this pristine condition...

Ray Ruff (1938-2005) was groomed by Norman Petty to inherit the mantle of Buddy Holly after Buddy's sudden death in 1959.  Several soundalike singles then emerged from Petty's Clovis, N.M., stronghold to little or no radio airplay.  But in 1963 the most amazing of Ray Ruff's Holly tributes was issued in Seattle on the legendary Seafair Bolo label.

A Fool Again is one of the best of all Buddy Holly soundalikes; after years of practice, Ray's got Buddy's vocal idiosyncrasies down pat, and the song is very Crickets-ish; even the guitar work sounds like Holly's.  Ruff went on to become a famed producer and promoter, but this record represents a high point in his recording career...
