Description

You are bidding on four 7" picture discs, in excellent condition and in their original protective plastic sleeves with associated stickers, by the iconic grunge band 'Soundgarden'. The singles are:-

'RUSTY CAGE' (1992) : limited edition of 5000 (number 003151) containing the previously unreleased track 'Touch Me'.
'JESUS CHRIST POSE' (1991) : contains previously unreleased track 'Stray Cat Blues'.
'SPOONMAN' (1991).
'OUTSHINED' (1992).

An American rock band from Seattle, Washington, 'Soundgarden' were formed in 1984 by rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil and bass guitarist Hiro Yamamoto. Matt Cameron became the band's full time drummer in 1986, while bassist Ben Shepherd replaced Yamamoto on a permanent basis in 1990. The band dissolved in 1997 due to internal strife over it's creative direction, but reformed in 2010. Cornell remained in Soundgarden until his passing in May 2017, putting the band's future in doubt and leaving Thayil as the bands only remaining original member.
One of the seminal creators of grunge, a style of alternative rock that developed in Seattle, and one of a number of grunge bands signed to the Sub Pop record label, 'Soundgarden' were the first grunge band to sign to a major record label (A&M in 1989), although they did not achieve commercial success until they popularized the genre in the early 1990's with Seattle contemporaries Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Nirvana. The band achieved their biggest success with the 1994 album 'Superunknown', which debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200, yielding Grammy Award winning singles 'Black Hole Sun' and 'Spoonman'.
