SONNY ROLLINS – WORKTIME – PRESTIGE 7070 – NYC LABEL – RVG – DG - VG+/VG+ - MONO
Recorded on December 2, 1955, this Rudy Van Gelder session features Sonny Rollins on tenor, Ray Bryant on piano, George Morrow on bass and Max Roach on drums. SIDE A: THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS; PARADOX and RAINCHECK. SIDE B: THERE ARE SUCH THINGS and IT’S ALRIGHT WITH ME. The address on the label is 446 W. 50th ST., N.Y.C. The address on the liner notes is 446 West 50th Street, New York 19, N.Y. The blank vinyl is stamped “RVG” on both sides of the LP. This is a MONO recording.
I’ve graded both the LP and the record jacket as VG+ for the following reasons. The vinyl on Side A is clean on any marks. There is a mark on Side B, Cut 1, which does not interfere with play. There is some very light surface noise in a few spots. The spindle hole has some slight wear. The record jacket has a sticker on the cover, which doesn’t want to be removed, as I believe it was pasted on. There is a small taped seam on the bottom and there is some writing in ink on the liner notes. Other than the sticker, the cover is in excellent condition and the liner notes are in very good condition. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
