Description

This one is the first mono and deep-grooved pressing of Prestige Records LP-7095 "SONNY ROLLINS PLAYS FOR BIRD". This one is an original issue from Prestige Records, not a reissue version by OJC or Classic Records. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder in 1957, with "RVG" stamped on the dead wax of both sides. Deep Groove on both labels. Labels address: PRESTIGE RECORDS INC., 446 W. 50th., ST., N.Y.C. Very rare in this condition.
The vinyl looks shinning like new on both sides. But there is a 1 inch feelable scratch on Side B (see photos). The vinyl played Almost Like New on Side A. Sonny's Saxophone is very nice. On Side B, there are small tics during song no. 1 (around 105 tics) due to a scratch which I've mentioned. Other than this, it played smooth and clean with no background noise. Played smooth, no jumped, skipped, or repeated. Thus, I rated Side B only VG.
The cover is NM-. Strong and no split. No fading but small yellows on the back (please see picture).
The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws.
My grading is as follows: M (perfectly like new), NM, NM-/VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-.
