SOMETHIN' ELSE 1963 BLUE NOTE RECORDS 1595 (MONO) EARLY REPRESS Cannonball Adderley Miles Davis Hank Jones Sam Jones Art Blakey Up for your consideration is one of the most important jazz records of all-time. 
1963 pressing:  New York USA on both labels, no deep groove and with "inc" and ® on labels. Plastylite "ear" and RVG stamped in deadwax. Deadwax B-side bears the 9M etching.

This is an extremely clean and glossy record. I have been collecting and dealing jazz records for over a decade and this is the nicest Blue Note that I have ever come across.  Is it perfect? Nope.  Is it clean and glossy with NO pops or tics and very minimal background noise? Yes.  There are marks on the record but NONE are 'feel-able' and about 80-90% of them go away in the direct light. These are almost all very superficial marks. Zoom in closely on the vinyl. Wow. See how nice and crisp and clean the cover is in?  The vinyl is in very similar condition to the cover.  For the sake of being conservative and fair, I will assign a VG++ grading. This an an accurate and true 'visual' VG++ grading.  The actual 'play test' grading leans more toward  the excellent level.   I listened to the entire record three times and this record is a thing of pure beauty.  An incredibly clean and clear and deeply satisfying listening experience. For those in the know, a true VG++ grading for an  original mono blue note is extremely hard to come by.  Please take several moments to scroll through my 100% positive feedback as a record dealer. I am very proud of my 100% positive feedback and strive hard to maintain my perfect score. The cover has an old price tag on the back. I have not tried to remove it. There is very light wear on the the top and bottom seams as shown. The side seam is pretty much perfect. There are some very light wrinkles under the laminate on the back cover as shown. The record sound is amazing. There is some light noise in a few spots (mainly the last track on side 2) but much of the record is crystal clear and very, very quiet---even between tracks. I have not professionally cleaned it; the sound could even be improved.

I generally do not sell anything below VG++ unless it super-rare. THE GRADING VG+ = A record that will be slightly to medium noisy in spots, but overall not noisy enough to distract from the music. There will perhaps be some surface and hairline marks, but again, not deep enough to cause a pop or tic. (MY VG+ record will have NO tics or major pops) There may be paper scuff marks on the vinyl. The original 'gloss' or shiny luster will be faded somewhat. Perhaps the label has some writing on it. This is the record that you would find at a thrift store or yard sale and be pleasantly surprised by the quality. Overall, a record worth having in your collection, a keeper. PLEASE NOTE THAT I GRADE CONSERVATIVELY. MY VG+ IS LIKELY ANOTHER DEALERS VG++ OR EXCELLENT.
VG++ = A record that may be slightly noisy in places. There will still be some original gloss or shiny luster to the vinyl. Perhaps the vinyl is excellent otherwise, but has some light noise in one specific area (which would be noted). There may be inconsequential hairline marks or paper scuffs from being pulled out of the sleeve. A record that holds its value and is in enviable condition and fit for the connoisseur. 
EXCELLENT = A record that will have most or all of its' original gloss and shine. Surface marks are superfluous and minimal. The record sounds very clean and clear and any slight noise will be short-lived and basically inconsequential. The label has no writing on it. This record is close to being near mint and earns a space on the TOP SHELF of your record collection.
NEAR MINT = A record that has been opened and played very minimally, if at all. Only about 5% of used records earn this grading. There will be noise at all and no surface marks. This record is 100% sparkling clean and glossy with superb sound. TOP SHELF. Bob Dylan's iconic masterpiece BLONDE ON BLONDE was sitting on top and I found myself somewhat mesmerized as I glanced thru the records. There was Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Beatles,Cat Stevens and a few other classic rock records. They seemed to be in really good condition, the vinyl was relatively clean and looked from free from any major marks. I found myself purchasing all of them along with a cheap record player that had been donated along with all the records. I went home and set up the record player to my receiver, slipped on Blonde On Blonde and that is when THE OBSESSION began. I started going to thrift stores. estate sales, storage unit sales, secondhand stores, rummage sales, flea markets, yard sales. You name it and if there was a chance that vinyl records were going to be there then I would go and check it out. I bought tons of records over the years and wasn't even re-selling them at first. I  just collected and collected!  There is something quite magical about records. I thought that at first and I continue to do so.  The purest form of recorded music, the highly superior sound of analog, the interactive experience of studying the cover and having to flip the record over. There is a bit more effort involved in listening to vinyl but it makes me appreciate the experience of listening to that particular record even more. I personally do not collect records that fall below a certain threshold, and for me that is my aforementioned VG++. I do not want to damage my needle by playing a subpar record nor do I care to listen to the annoying and distracting background noise that comes along with VG+ and below.
