This record sat on a shelf in the back room of an old-school latin record label in New Jersey until I was given a few records as a gift by the owner. This was one of them.
The record is in Near Mint Condition. There are no scratches. The record plays impeccable with no skips or noise. Since acquiring this record I've taken it out once to play and a second time to photograph for this auction.
The Sleeve is in Near Mint condition. The top right has a rough edge about 1 inch long. This record comes with the original inner sleeve.    - - - - - - - - - -

Review From the Sonorama Chicago blog:

"Here’s a little record by Sola, released in 1973 on RCA Mexico. I couldn’t find much on her mucical career, the notes tell the story of a nun who first noticed Sola’s voice at fourteen while she sang as she cleaned the halls of her convent/school. What is known is that the album’s producer/composer/arranger Manuel Alejandro was an established name within the music world, composing hits for artists like Raphael, Emmanuel, and Jose Jose (who was a master at that sly dark 70?s baroque balad style found all over Latin-America)

One of the best cuts on LP is a slinky funky song  “Tabu Tabu”, a song with lyrics that are just as interesting as its groove. The song makes a sarcastically absurd  proposition against censorship, “if you want a long, long, life, even if its easy and false, don’t talk about things that occur on earth, forget there’s misery and put your head down…forget sex and imagine storks bring children, don’t talk about the government and imagine politicians are strawberry angels…don’t doubt the Church….forget Mao and Castro and believe what the press says…tabu tabu….no no…don’t speak”

The rest of the cuts similarly have some interestingly dark undertones, with some cuts even having religious themes but all with a nice contrast of Sola’s range that can  go from a whisper to a booming soaring soulful vox with ease. The other tracks, while not as funky as “Tabu” are darkly interesting in their own right. Enjoy the tunes. EB"
