SOHAIL RANA "Khyber Mail" (HMV 5000)
A legendary rarity, this is one of the really great copies you can ever get! Showcasing a stunning fusion of sitar psych, beat, plain exotica and strange sounds all over, this is a fantastic period piece which no "sub-continent sounds" lover should miss, especially the tune "Soul Sitar"! This is sooo rare and especially in this condition! Released only in Pakistan in 1970.
Cover has transparent thin taping around the seams which you can see on the scan. Other than that, no writings, no tears, no splits, in short, no other problems!
As for the disc: I will start by audio condition of this and say that very luckily, this is one of those LPs that received a proper quality pressing in Pakistan. This ensures much better quality than most of (let's say) Indian LPs issued at the time. Pressing-originated surface noise, which is so widely found at the sub-continent pressed records of the time, is almost non-existant and this is topped up by good pressing of music. Visibly: Both sides have shiny clean grooves. No scratches but there are few short and thin hairlines on each side (looks like an obvious storation or handling fault which has NO affect on the music). I'll grade the disc as VG++. Mind you, this was originally pressed very well and it's obvious, previous owners did not play this too much, in this nice shape it plays in EX quality! No reserve!

Some notes on the sound samples: Each sound file was created ONLY by using the same copy offered here on auction (strictly, NOT by another copy). I had to keep the file sizes small for various reasons therefore these sound sample files contain only very small snippets from songs on the records and I hope they give you a fair idea of the exciting music contained in these records.
