Soft Machine are an English rock and jazz band from Canterbury formed in mid-1966, named after the novel The Soft Machine by William S. Burroughs.
Progressive Rockers Soft Machine are celebrated in this five-record box set which does pretty much what it says: 'Live In 1970' captures the band in the height of their ascension, bursting into their jazzier sounds, while creating ornate and complex jams full of flute, harmonica and saxophone - this instrumentation comes courtesy of traveling member Lyn Dobson.
" This is a phenomenal box set with beautiful graphics. The box is made like an opening book with translucent interior. The recording on vinyl is good. The Box Set is enjoyable and I think also very rare. For those who love soft machines, I think it is a gem as it adds a lot to the band's catalogue. Soft Machine experimented and improvised live and in this collection they are at their best. Super Recommended!! " - Owner of This Edition.
