Blue Note's Classic Vinyl series finds the legendary jazz label revisiting some of its most vital albums and giving them all-new, all-analog mastering by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes and a new pressing onto 180g vinyl. The latest is Linnie Smith's Turning Point, a 1969 gem from the Dr that featured Smith on organ with Lee Morgan on trumpet, Julian Priester on trombone, Bennie Maupin on tenor saxophone, Melvin Sparks on guitar, and Idris Muhammad on drums. It's a record full of highlights such as a cover of 'See Saw' and the Beatles' 'Elanor Rigby' and plenty of other soulful originals.
