Description
Here is SNOOKS AND HIS MEMPHIS STOMPERS in 1931 with a hot arrangement of a number you MUST remember! I don't often invoke nostalgia when I mean to be historical, but sheesh: "SMILE, DARN YA, SMILE" ! Did you see "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Of course you did! THIS is the iconic song all the 'Toons croon lustily at the end of the movie! You left the theater whistling or humming, or tap-dancing or outright SINGING it! Like we did in those thrilling days of yesteryear, when every movie had a theme song you could take home with you.
And a pretty good flip side: The Thomas "Fats" Waller and Alex Hill hit tune, "I'M CRAZY 'BOUT MY BABY" as only Snooks and his Stompers can play it!
Both terrific songs! Great for parties! Learn 'em! Sing 'em! Your friends will LOVE YOU for it.
This original 1931 "Scroll" Victor 22662 is in fine E- condition. A little wear; a few scuffs and scratches.
*****
These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
