 Slowdive's Pygmalion LP 1995-crelp 168 up for auction, out of print, hard to find...never been played (had it on CD)...Sleeve and record are in MINT condition

 When Slowdive recorded this album it was a radical departure from what they had produced before and even more radically different from what the label were interested in at the time, Oasis. The label wouldn't release the record for a year after they received it and when eventually they did so, they dropped the band from their roster a week later. The band then changed their name to Mojave 3, went country and signed to new label, 4AD.
It is, indeed, an ambient album but built up on simply gorgeous textures of guitar, brushed cymbals and mello percussion, tambourines and cellos. Not to mention the wistful dreamy vocals of Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell.

'Rutti' is a magnificent introduction to the album, built around brushed cymbals, plucked electric guitar and sweeps of synth.

'Crazy for you' actually picks up tempo and Neil repeats the phrase 'there's no other love' over and over.

Miranda, built on a simple repeated guitar chord, sounds underwater and has hints of musique arabe.

'Trellisaze' has a primitive beat to the fore, slow of course while treated vocals and sound effects float around in the air.

'Cello' is, well beautifully based around a cello.

Shimmering guitars and ethereal choirs make an appearance on 'J's Heaven'.

'Visions of La' is gently strummed acoustic guitar and the glorious disembodied vocals of Rachel Goswell.

Deep resonant bass guitar and an insistent drum beat start off 'Blue skied and clear'. Standard vocals from Neil maintain the song until stunning soaring vocals from Rachel.

'All of us' finishes the album, and the band, on unsurprisingly a slow note. Like a tap dripping, the guitar notes are plucked at lengthy intervals

Comes housed in nice matte outer and inner sleeves.

i apologize for all the people who bid on this item when it was previously posted...i had to take it down because i had been corresponding with many people overseas and complying with them only to find out i could not ship internationally (i thought i had allowed international shipping by not excluding any countries; apparently not. i missed the worldwide shipping window). i tried to correct this after the fact but was not allowed. i feel bad for taking it down but felt worse for telling people i would ship to them and then those same people not being able to bid. i mean it's an import! I got it from overseas! it was only fair to give them a chance at it. it was the principle of the matter...well, selling items for a premium isn't actually principled...but i've bought my share of items on eBay for a premium so i feel it all balances out. anyways, i am going off on a tangent. i apologize for that and for pulling the item off prematurely...sorry for the inconvenience everybody....thanks for looking...again...!

 hey! for all the trouble i caused i am throwing in 2, count 'em TWO! Slowdive EPs: the "Outside Your Room" and "5 EP( In Mind Remixes)" EPs! yeah! the outside you room ep has been heavily played but still looks okay. i just downloaded it onto my iTunes and it plays.it features two songs from "Souvlaki" and  bonus tracks on that EP are "So Tired" and "Moussaka Chaos". the second EP "5 EP" features remixes of the song "In Mind" (Bandalu Remix [Out Mind]) and (Reload Remix[the 147 Take]). that one has been heavily played as well but plays nonetheless. i checked. i appreciate all the people looking and bidding...my goal is to get to 31 feedback ratings...i am now at 30! help me achieve my lifelong dream of 31 feedback ratings! thanks everybody...take it easy...
