Description

Columbia Records four disc set SL-173, in slipcase, with individual jackets for each disc.  Individual discs are ML 4579-4582.  All four discs have the early blue label, all pressed in the US.

Beethoven, The Middle Quartets, played by the Budapest String Quartet.  Recorded in 1951 in Coolidge Auditorium at The Library of Congress, Washington, D. C..  See pics for personnel and program details.

Volume II of the complete set of Beethoven quartets.  See my other listings for the other two volumes.

Discs 4579, 80, and 82 are VG++, with some light surface marks from the sleeves, but play very nicely with a mono cartridge, with minimal surface noise.  ML 4581 is VG+, with a few more marks, but still plays well, with just a bit more surface noise.  They all have great sound.  Slipcase VG+.  Inner jackets in nice shape.
