Description
I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A LARGE COLLECTION OF 1950s AND EARLY 1960s ROCK-N-ROLL AND DOO-WOP LPs, INCLUDING QUITE A FEW RARE AND COLLECTABLE ORIGINAL PRESS ITEMS. I WILL BE OFFERING SOME OF THESE OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO - IF YOU COLLECT ORIGINAL PRESS 1950s AND EARLY 1960s ROCK-N-ROLL AND DOO-WOP LPs, KEEP WATCHING MY AUCTIONS!! This is a 1960 VINTAGE MONAURAL WHITE LABEL DEEP GROOVE FIRST PRESSING of the self-titled LP from Pittsburgh PA doo-wop hitmaking legends The Skyliners, with Jimmy Beaumont singing lead. It is Calico LP catalog number LP-3000. Labels are white and bear the yellow and green Calico Records logo. I am a WebTV user, and unfortunately I do not have the means to add images to my listings. The front cover of the Skyliners LP has the usual Calico label cover with a color photo showing the group standing on an airport runway in front of an airliner. The back cover has liner notes and three small black-and-white photos, two of the group in the recording studio, and one of lead singer Jimmy Beaumont at a mike in the recording studio. Tracks: Pennies From Heaven, When I Fall In Love, Tired Of Me, Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart, Since I Don't Have You, I'll Be Seeing You, This I Swear, One-Night One-Night, If I Loved You, Tomorrow, I Can Dream Can't I, Warm. Condition of cover is nicer than is usually seen with rare vintage rock-n-roll LPs - I would conservatively grade the cover a mid to high VG+ with the only real flaws being a small amount of ring wear, a little contact wear, and some wear along the edges and on the corners. There is NO writing, splits, tears, or stickers. I am going to grade the record at a mid VG+, despite one pressing flaw in the vinyl which can be felt and which visually appears as if it would affect play for half of one track, BUT I HAVE PLAY-TESTED THE RECORD THROUGH THIS AREA, AND THE FLAW REMARKABLY HAS NO EFFECT ON PLAY WHATSOEVER. Apparently this record was deeply pressed right into this flawed area, and the record plays perfectly through the entire affected area. Besides the one aforementioned flaw, record has some scattered surface marks, of which only one small one can barely be felt, and neither this mark nor any of the others have any effect on play. This is a real nice looking rare piece that would make a choice addition to any early rock-n-roll or doo-wop record collection! Please e-mail me with any questions. Winning bidder pays $3.75 insured media mail postage or actual insured priority mail postage within the U.S. E-mail me for shipping charges outside the U.S. Personal checks must clear. I now accept payment via PayPal. WINNING BIDDER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE! I will give an immediate refund (less shipping) upon return of the LP if winning bidder is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
