It's been 10 years since Polish duo Skalpel last graced our collections via Ninja Tune. Their return couldn't come a moment too soon. Transit comes complete with all the jazz nuances and references we'd come to expect from them. But rather than digging and pushing their sampler to the limit, this album shimmers solely with their own productions and compositions. Sounding fresher as a result, it starts a whole chapter for the respected duo as tracks such as the dreamy, lolloping breezes of "Sound Garden", the far-away feel good ambience and cinematic drums of "Snow" and the Mancini-style drama ensure Skalpel are just as relevant this decade as they were 10 years ago.
