Up For Auction: The Horace Silver Quintet "Silver's Serenade"
I was given a close family friend's vinyl record collection after he passed. I had been to his home when he played some of those record albums and witnessed first hand the care in which he handled them. This is a prime example.
The album cover shows very little wear except what looks like some minor residue from something it came in contact with, but it did not discolor or damage it. On the back is a small water stain at the very bottom. It still has the original Blue Note sleeve with no tears. I would have graded it Excellent since this album is from 1963, but since I am new at selling Vinyl Records I am trying to be cautious.
The Vinyl Record itself shows very few surface scratches but nothing deep or enough to affect play. There are no skips. There is very slight crackle before it starts playing but compared to most records I have played I would call it faint. There is no popping. I am rating the record Very Good +, but again I am being cautious.
I have been told this is a wonderful Jazz album, I don't personally listen to Jazz, and someone will be lucky to have it in the condition it is in for the age!
