Description

SIDNEY BECHET "GIANT OF JAZZ" mono deep groove lp on Blue Note 1203 US issue 1955 VG+/VG+. (New dealer: Please check my About Me page.) I would grade this LP VG+. It plays great, but has some minimal noise that was not there when the record was new. It may also have noticeable visual marks, consistent with a well-cared for, but appreciated, record that’s had a moderate amount of play. This LP still plays great, and has lots of shine and is beautiful overall. This is a very collectible "deep groove" Lexington Ave. copy of this. Visually it is on the cusp between VG and VG+ but it plays a solid VG+. So before you judge give it a listen. It does have a little dead groove noise but it really plays well over-all. I think Bechet was Blue Notes first artist and their recordings of him sound great on every level. The Players: BECHET; ART HODES; WILD BILL DAVIDSON; POPS FOSTER; RAY DIEHL; WALTER PAGE; FRED MOORE; JIMMY ARCHY; JOE SULLIVAN; SLICK JONES. A very nice vintage collectible copy.The Jacket: (I don’t rate any jackets with my initials NM) I would rate the cover VG+ overall with no stickers or initials. The name of the record store (Victor Music) stamped in red on the upper rt. back. A little age marking in back and some seam wear but in great shape over-all especially for a jacket of this vintage.
