Split album dedicated to two very important Greek mucisians.
Yorgo Sicilianos (1920-2005) is one of the most important figures of musical modernism in Greece. This album belongs to the second period of his work during which the composer used for the first time the twelve-tone technique. This period, characterised by his seeking of and experimentation in contemporary musical trends (the twelve-tone technique, serialism, post-serialist techniques, electronic music), lasted about 25 years.
Dimitris Dragatakis considered one of the most important modern Greek composers, with a personal musical idiom that is both mature and laconic. Influenced by the musical traditions of Greece (in particular the ones of his native Epirus) and ancient Greek drama, his music also came to reflect his interest in new techniques such as free atonality, novel instrumental combinations, post-modernism, minimalism and electronic music.
