Hard to find 1971 record by Shuggie (son of soul great Johnny Otis). Awesome easy mellow stoned grooves to while away any summer day.

Issued in September 1971,Freedom Flight teamed Shuggie Otis with a group of ably skilled musicians (including George Duke and the Crusaders' Wilton Felder), giving the virtuoso guitarist a solid foundation to work with. Produced by his father, Johnny Otis, the album is also notable for including the original version of "Strawberry Letter 23." The Brothers Johnson's 1977 million-selling cover adheres pretty close to it. Other highlights are the gentle, musing ballad "Someone's Always Singing," co-written by Otis and Kenny Kahn, and the jukebox-bluesy "Me and My Woman," penned by Otis and Gene Barge.
